The simply designed hardwood furniture from a local tree called Mugavu retains its character of strength as it grounds the entire living and dining space. The red colour theme that is seen running from the sofas through to the curtains is softened up by grey cushions.
The Tuscany inspired wrought metal wall art charmingly sits above a sofa that faces a corner reading nook.
The coffee table is nestled on a grey area rug and crowned with a funky terrarium to lighten the mood.
The hardwood entertainment centre is accentuated with an eclectic collection of bits and blobs including finely-polished cattle horns characteristic of the graceful long horned Ankole cows. The monochrome basket is a traditional serving vessel used mostly in western Uganda to serve a popular dish called Kalo (millet bread).
The view into a private garden is an added bonus occupants of this home. A place where even the kids can play.
As you catch a break to make a cup of tea you are met with a simple but sturdy dining table that is grounded by an African print table runner anchored on a soft rug set against a backdrop of a creatively sewn tapestry. The tapestry depicts a woman from the central region of Uganda dancing to the beat of drums.
The master bedroom provides a charcoal vanished queen size bed that sits under a ceiling to floor mosquito net. Draped across the bed is a colourful African print runner that breaks the flow of the crispy white beddings. The master bedroom is made whole with its own en-suite bathroom.
